the patriotic sailor, the lounge singer, the traditional housewife, or Rosie the Riveter! The girls brought their favorite 40s clad, and
we made their "look" come to life!
But this wasn't just a photo shoot, it was a party! Ready and eager to channel their inner 40s diva for the evening, we encouraged the women to bring wine, beer, food, and anything else that would make their "party shoot" complete. During this shoot, they had pizza ordered, and wine chilled; ready to experience the 40s.
Jessica Suchter is a professional hairstylist and make-up artist, who specializes in re-creating that "vintage" look. Each girl arrived make-up free without their hair 'done,' and Jess went to work! For these pin-up shoots, she curls, styles, sprays, and sets every girl's special 'do. She often adds a special flower or head scarf to top off the look. Jess then turns their fresh face into a "Mad Men" look alike, complete with red lips, and sultry eyes. Jess can turn any girl into a 'Marilyn,' a 'Betty,' an 'Ava,' or even a 'Rosie!'
Props are provided by Todd Hiller Photography, from the vintage telephone, to the 1940s Singer sewing machine, a vintage microphone (perfect for our lounge singer), coke bottles, American flags, and more. Party-goers are encouraged to bring any props they have that may add to their 40s look.
Once the shot is set, its time to enjoy yourself and pose! Todd's lighting and studio design for the evening, make all the photos appear as if they were taken 75 years ago! It's then up to the client to give a wink, blow a kiss, do a playful pose or even give a traditional sailor salute, to take us back in time!
These girls had a blast throughout the evening, and we encourage YOU and your friends, to book your next birthday party, girls night out, or bachelorette party, with Todd & Jess, to make your 40s pin-up dream into a reality!

I had the great pleasure of shooting Launi and Gene's beautiful Spring wedding last weekend. I started off at Launi's parents house where I was able to interact with the bridesmaids before the ceremony. After that, we headed to the gorgeous All Saints Parish in Plymoth, PA where the two exchanged vows. The rain was threatening, so the girls grabbed their umbrellas and hurried over to the River Commons for a few fun shots before the drops came down. The reception was at the Woodlands in Wilkes-Barre, PA and it was dressed up extremely elegant which made for great images on the dance floor. Best of luck Launi and Gene!
I would also like to give a special thanks to Frank Lauri who shot this wedding with me.

The ceremony was held at the captivating cathedral inside the Visitation of the BMV Church. It was a photographers dream! The priest was great and let me roam wherever I wanted. This allowed me to get some great facial expressions.
The couples first pictures as husband and wife were taken around Lake Scranton where the wedding party mixed in a few fun shots for laughs. The sun made brief appearances, with calm winds and the temperatures in the 60s throughout the day, I couldn't have asked for a better spring wedding day.
The night commenced at the Scranton Hilton, and the ballroom was set perfectly for an elegant evening. Mari and Dave were beaming from the first dance through the last, and their happiness rubbed off on all of their guests.
Here are a few of my favorites.
]]>This maternity shoot was extremely special for me because the father-to-be, T.J. Savero, has been my best friend for over 30 years! It’s a friendship that developed through our passion for baseball. In less than two months, T.J. and his wife, Jessica, will welcome a son, Dominic, into a family of N.Y. Yankee fanatics! So, when I was asked to do this shoot, I knew there was only one place that would suffice; the home of the triple-a affiliate of the Yankees. PNC Field in Moosic, PA is a newly renovated ballpark that was simply breathtaking on this first Sunday in May. The day boasted 70 degree temperatures and sunshine, without a cloud to be found. Freshly cut grass blanketed the field and the perfectly polished stadium cast a shadow of happiness over the couple as they embraced their roles as parents-to-be.
I’ve heard people describe expecting mothers as having that “glow,” well Jessica was radiating with it on this day! Posing her was easy because she was natural with every turn, every look, and every gesture. There was a sense of privacy within the dugout’s walls that allowed for a more intimate setting. She was a trooper! From pictures in the dugout, to the wall in right field, to the pitcher’s mound, to the scoreboard in left, and finally to the grassy knoll in right; we used every corner of the stadium. I also snapped some photos with the usual game pieces; a baseball bat and ball, which added familiarity to our setting. It was Jessica’s idea to bring a framed picture of their sonogram which became a great addition to our props! My first shoot at the home of the SWB RailRiders was more than I could’ve hoped for. It was a beautiful display of a young couple’s happiness for their unborn son. A special thanks to the staff at PNC Field for allowing me to use this stadium, and to T.J. and Jessica, I can’t wait to shoot baby Dominic’s first tee-ball game in just a couple of years.
